Default Magnetic Battery Charger

It uses 2 magnetic connectors to make the attachment between the CTEK trickle charger and the battery. The best part is that if you drive away and forget that the charger is on it in your garage it just pops off and doesn't damage anything. Here are some photos of the connector. This is very easy to use and will save you a huge hassle when you go to the garage and the battery is dead.

If you guys may be interested in putting a kit together I will check and see how the numbers work and see if this is something I can offer. This is a pretty straightforward project you can do on a Sunday if you work on your own car.

DISCONNECTED (connection issues on the passenger belly tray by the front of the car.

Pretty cool solution. I have the CTEK plug hanging out from the plastic trim under the hood. Since it's in the front of the car I have never even been close to driving off with it connected - but still. Looks like a clean option.

I love this solution. I keep my car on a trickle charger all the time. It requires me to keep the frunk hood open and the interior frunk light disconnected. The magnetic connector idea would be a great intervention. I would be very interested in a package fitted to the 996!

Pretty trick. Just like the new Ferrari's! If a kit doesn't price out to make sense, a DIY guide would be equally appreciated

Subscribing as I was about to cut into a second ABS trim cover to fit the c-tek comfort connector. You connector looks better, is it a c-tek or do you manufacture them? Whats on the other end of the plug I.E. how to you connect the other end of the magnetic connector to the c-tek?

That sounds like a short term fix! The cable may not appreciate (for long) being squeezed daily by the door weather strips.

There is a cutout built into the weatherstrip just for this purpose.

exactly what I do plus there’s a light to tell if it’s full or charging.

Verbatim post on the turbo forum also with the same replies.

OK, I put some kits together for now. I have 50 sets of connectors but I only have 4 CTEK trickle chargers in stock.

I will provide-

CTEK Battery Charger (Multi US 3300)
Connector to the battery with about 7' of wire to connect to the car mounted magnetic connector.
2 spade connectors to be crimped onto the wire
Magnetic battery charger connector already soldered on and ready to go.

You will need to mount the two wires to the battery. Each wire had a round battery eyelet connection which should make this part easy.
Decide where you are going to mount the magnetic car connection and mount that into a 1" hole.
Cut the wires to that length and crimp 2 spade connectors on the end of the wires.
After that your job is all done.

PRICE FOR THE COMPLETE KIT AS I DESCRIBE IT HERE-
$199.00

If you are interested in using your current trickle charger and want to just buy the 2 magnetic connectors and do the kit yourself (it's not very hard to tackle yourself if you have some experience)
PRICE FOR JUST THE MAGNETIC CONNECTOR-
$59.00

We do not have it on the website yet so please feel free to give me a call and I can get it out to you right away.

Agree with the simple solution. I have a black and decker trickle charger plugged into the cigarette lighter. See the charge condition through the window and see it when you get in the car so no driving off with it plugged in. 20 bucks, no installation, done.
