My water pump had 113K miles on it when it was replaced along with the IMS etc. When I spoke to the Porsche Mechanic he was actually a little more concerned with the original water pump then the IMS bearing. Best of luck with the new car. I too drove home 1,000 miles after buying my car in Cali. It was an awesome trip home with my son that I will never forget.

Pix are deceiving, relying on the dealer to perform the PPI, inconsistent mntce...not a good start.

Agree with that. Having a different shop do the PPI is critical. It will be done by the local Porsche dealer, not the selling dealer. I'll see it in person before purchase, if the dealer gives it a green light I'll fly up there to see it and do my own inspection. The one maintenance area I'm concerned about is that a couple oil changes were too long of interval. Not mileage, but time, 20 mos on one occation, but only 2000 miles. So it wasn't driven much by one of the POs. Then followed by several short intervals and the selling dealer did an oil change before putting it up for sale. So maybe that's not too bad? I'll discuss that today with my mechanic for his opinion. I tend to over-maintain my cars, but they never suffer major issues.

Have you asked for a Rennfax? Might be worth it. The one done on my car was priceless.

Post up the location of the car, and ask if a member in the area would go check it out for you. The member that did mine took multiple videos and pictures for me.
