Unfortunately, we do not recommend the 901 bar for cabriolets.

Default If you want the mother of all bars...

Ask RSS Mike about their bar that attaches in the rear to the shock towers and to the chassis (Yes, you'll need to drill some holes) just aft of the B pillar. I am having the bar installed in the next few weeks. I'll post up some pics. The RSS bars are super high quality in my opinion....I did lots of research before selecting the RSS...I have a spread sheet posted on the 996 GT3 Board comparing the various brands available for there 997 and 997 chassis, coupes.

How come the red bar pictured is missing one of the diagonal bars going from the lower left rear anchor point to the top right?

Also, is it possible to show a photograph taken from a reasonable driver's-eye position showing how this looks in the rear-view mirror, i.e. how much it hurts rear visibility?

Structurally speaking, what is the difference between the 901 and 930? Are there certification standards for roll bars?

Red bar pic is now deleted, was not a 901 model, image was pulled from wrong gallery. Thanks for pointing that out.

Generally the rearward visibility is quote good in terms of the top horizontal tube and 2 diagonal bars. I will search for some pics...

The 901 Harness Bar shares the mounting points with the Old Porsche Techquipement Bar. Horizontal mounting points are at the reinforced seatbelt anchor points. It is designed as a 4pt. Harness Bar. You can see the mounting points in photo above. It offers a Harness Bar Mounting Solution with the Roll Bar looks/style while being minimally invasive in terms of cutting the carpet and performing permanent mods to the car. This is also an ideal option for vehicles equipped with the BOSE Subwoofer who want to run a Harness Bar with the Roll Bar Look, as it does not require the removal or modification of the BOSE.

The 930 Hybrid Bar in contrast, as the name implies, is a Hybrid of a Harness Bar and Bolt in Roll Bar. It mounts to the front seatbelt anchor point and the top of the rear shock towers. It requires carpet panel trimming a the rear mounts.

There are no certifications for either 901 or 930 as they are not TRUE Roll Bars. For that application, we have the 931 Bar (See below) which exceeds the stated specs for most sanctioning bodies that I am aware of. The 931 Mounts at the front unibody frame rails and rear shock towers. Ideally it should be welded in place to be a proper or True Roll Bar.

I have not confirmed that fitment personally, but would venture to guess the sliding glass panel my not provide enough clearance. If your local we could have a look or email me (see signature below) and we could provide you some measurements that may confirm fitment.
