Default Boroscope can be used to visualize IMSB??

Was watching the PCA video on the IMSB by Jake Raby and he referred to using a boroscope to determine which bearing is installed. Asked my indi who wants to charge $2K to remove the trans and flywheel which of course is out of the question unless it is time to replace the clutch. Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve

OK I did and if you look at the first video in the series, not the one just posted, at 10:50 min mark this is where he referred to using a boroscope.

Sorry I totally misread your question, thinking you wanted to know the condition of your bearing vs the type of bearing...I shouldn't come on this site while at work!
I don't think you can see it unless you separate the tranny and move it enough to get a scope in there.

it is a 2004 base coupe MT with a reman engine from Porsche at 12K miles (2007). The engine has 55K over the past 7 years. I suspect it has the larger single row bearing but have put up forsale and knowing the bearing type would be helpful.

You're probably right, no sense spending money just so you know. Share what you've learned with the buyer (offer no guarantee on bearing type) and good luck with the sale.
