Default Muffler Mod

Does anyone know of a shop in the Seattle area that would do the Fister or Gungo "mod" to the mufflers on my 2003 C4S? I've heard that any muffler shop can do it, but I'd prefer to take it somewhere that was recommended rather than any ol' shop.
Thanks

The Gundo Hack and the modified Fister mufflers are not the same. Both are modifications of OE mufflers and both are partial bypass configurations, but they aren't the same.

I would think that any qualified muffler shop could do it if you told them what you wanted. I went with Fister mufflers, and I'm very happy with that decision.

I would go with Either Dundon in Gig Harbor(he is building a custom exhaust for my 996 as we speak and is an engine and exhaust genius) or Cantrel's in Bellevue. Both are top notch but Dundon maybe cheaper.

If your in a rush, just order a set of Fisters from Darin, swap yours out and send back as cores. If you have time, send yours in and let Darin do the mod. His work is unmatched, just read the dozens of threads posted. I also had him do the ceramic coating. Although others may disagree, I have noticed a reduction of heat in the engine compartment.

Start to finish was under two weeks for my fisters, can't say enough good things about the ease of the transaction, quality, etc. I'm in Utah fwiw.

What did it cost to ship your mufflers? Seems like it might be pricey to do so. Thanks

+996 on Fisters. I want to say it was roughly $40-60 to get mine shipped from Cali to Cincinnati. Best to call Darin and ask.

+1 on Fister. Darin's work is fantastic. You can't go wrong with Fister. I have them on both my 996 and 993.
I tried several different brands on my 993 before going with Fisters, and they were by far the best sounding mufflers.

Thanks. I've had Chris' German work on my Porsche a few times, so I know they do good work. That said, I've contacted them before about doing this and they never responded. Did they quote you a price?
