Default What IMS cover is this?

it only has one mark, a K. Compared to another OEM one.

car is a 99 996 with 164k miles.

That's KK's homemade solution version 2.0. The other "K" must have rubbed off. Lasted a whole lot longer than the first one.

99 will be the dual row bearing if it’s standard, if it’s gone that far leave it alone, lock engine in TDC, pull the cam chain tensioners before you remove the ims flange, once flange is off, pop the bearing seal off carefully with a small pick, this will let better oil inside to help it go on longer!

I went with this idea. The bearing looked to be in great shape.

While the plate was off, did you check if it had the newer 3 rib seal?

It was all original. I put a new seal on it from the pelican kit I bought.
