Default What is the max width rim up front on 99 996 C2?

I am looking at the RH Cup wheels for my 996 C2. But they have 18x8.5 and 18x10. WOuld a 10 fit the front? I doubt it but what widths can I fit on it?

Thanks

I have my Kinesis Supercups for sale if interested?!

Not sure a 10" wide wheel would fit on the front and honestly, I'm not sure why you would want that. 8.5" is more than wide enough IMO.

I use 18x9 and 18x11 on my 99c2 race car. Anything bigger would get pretty tight. For a street car I would stay with the 8.5 in front. Jim

What tire are you going to use on a 10" wheel in front? To take full benefits from a 10" wheel, you'd need to use at least a 265 tire. A tire that size in front will create some serious hunting over uneven pavement. I'd stick with a maximum of 9" and 11" sizes as per Jim's suggestion above. Better yet, how about the GT3 sizes?

I'll third the vote for a max of 9 but 8.5 is safer. I had 8.5s on the front of my 99 996 and they could have been 9" with the right offsets. Any bigger than that would have stuck out of the fender. I ran 245/35s up front without any rubbing but it depends on your camber as well - I had about -1.5degrees of camber which is considerably more than stock.

Viken is right. I ran 265s in front for awhile when it was the only size Michelin Pilot Sport Cup that would work. You don't want to try that on the street.

Thanks for the input guys. Looks like I will stay with the 8.5 with 235's up front.

Great advise, as always
