Default Alternating entry doors to reduce latch, switch, and bolster wear?

Ever since acquiring this magnificent motorcar, I have worried about applying wear unevenly. I typically drive alone - well, if you consider being in the presence of your own magnificence as alone time, I weep for you - but I digress. At any rate, I've been worried about uneven wear on the seat bolsters, door handles, and associated switch and latch hardware, so I have been alternating entry and exit every other day. Day 1 I use the driver side, day 2 the passenger side. The difference is already remarkable to the wear I see savaging the cars of lesser thinkers.

I may opt to have a third door installed...each additional ingress/egress can only help but preserve the integrity of my EC (early, collectible) 996.

I have yet to optimize the driving position - currently I use two hoes (the garden variety, you louts) and a giant double-headed black dong for the accelerator (an odd implement, I realize - but it fits so well in the hand).

Cheers!

I do the same thing, but I noticed you forgot one key step. REMOVE YOUR SHOES PEOPLE. How many times do I have to ask someone to take off their shoes before they get in my car, it's a respect thing.

Also, I've noticed that blue jeans tends to wear down the leather and bolsters the most, so while unconventional, I've started purchasing female yoga pants. Not only are they comfortable as **** on my nuts, but the stretchy material sliding against the cool soft leather is quite literally orgasmic. 10/10.

Polyester pants, driving shoes & gloves: they can't hurt, right? Because my driver's side seat was worn from over a decade of use I switched the left and rear seats to even out the wear. So far so good.

It is this kind of thread focusing on the finer details of ownership that keeps me coming back to Rennlist. By the way, I used to drive a Maserati.

Thank you

I have discovered that any dye from clothing items will stain the seats.

Hence, I moved to only driving in white clothes, ala Don Johnson in Miami Vice.

However, I soon discovered the laundry detergent from my whites was also damaging my supple leather.

So, I stopped washing my driving clothes.

However, the dirt and grime then was applied to my seats, not to mention my passengers began complaining of a certain "ripeness."

Now, I drive naked.

As the third entry point, I have been using my sunroof. No door wear at all!

Sadly, because of my height I can barely get in my 996 the normal way. Unfortunately, I will be one of the heathens that continues to savage the condition of my car by using the traditional, albeit completely misguided, method of entry and not the enlightened method of entry.

How do you get in without scratching the paint with your feet? Do you dive in? Skydive from a plane and parachute in?

I just look at my Porsche from a safe distance, put my hands at an imaginary 10-2 position and make vroom-vroom noises. PSA- when making the vroom-vroom noise, do so at a quiet hush so as not to rattle the IMS bearing.

Are you willing to consider alternative activities while making the vroom vroom noises? If so, I know a guy who will give you 15 gallons of gas.

A little forward, but...we should meet up. How about Friday at 8PM, Santa Monica pier? I'll be wearing a green backpack.

If I'm late, my buddy Chris will find a place for you to hang out and wait.
