Last week I moaned about how my new Continental tr7412ub stereo from Becker in NJ had no sound. Well that was my fault, the unit had been re-wired with a new harness and I did not understand exactly how to hook it up, But after a short discussion with Tom at Becker I had it installed and working perfectly in 5 minutes...Totally plug and play. This is a custom made harness and he has only done a few, but I bet he would be happy to do more. You do loose the CD changer but you gain Blue Tooth, USB, Aux in, and microphone. With no cutting or adapting anything, and I think it looks pretty good
This set up will work in 01-02 996 with cdr220/cr220

Nice! I was surprised to read your other thread - those folks are the only ones I'd even consider using if I had to deal with Bose/MOST in my 996. I do not miss that part of my 986 experience.
Great to hear that you got things sorted out and that Becker took good care of you.
Yes it does have a Frunk Amp and that was the problem, I did not realize that there was a separate wire that sends power to the amp and I actually cut it off thinking it was for Steering wheel controls that I do not have. luckily I left enough wire to re-attach it.
Any chance you took pictures of the wiring harness and connectivity. I'm still confused how the Conti feeds the amp. I spoke with a Conti sales rep and he stated their units did not support pre-amp output. They would only feed speaker level output.
unfortunately I did not but I believe the blue power wire in plug A? is spliced with a blue wire to a yellow female connector that the yellow C3? male plugs in to, this powers the Amp which was the extra yellow receptacle I did not understand.

The pdf for the CDR-220 shows Line-Out connections.
Line out : 4 x analogue line out (Va max 3 Veff at 10k ohms)
exactly! The CDR-220 was common in the pre-MOST systems and it's my understanding, the unit provided two L+R pairs of line-outs (front and rear) for the amp.
That at being said, I would love to know how the Conti system handles these signals.
