Default Help on pricing 1999 911 C2 modified

I'm considering purchasing a 1999 911 Carrera C2 6 spd manual from a family member and I need some help determining a fair price.

He's had the car for around 10 years and acquired it after the IMS went out. The engine was replaced with a new factory engine and now has 5,000 miles on it. It's in very good condition with the following mods:

- Full factory GT3 suspension
- GT2 nose
- Techart side sills
- Turbo bumber
- GT2 spoiler
- Champion forged 19 inch wheels
- BBK short shift
- Fabspeed exhaust & cat delete

I've been looking around and prices range from $5k for a trashed example to $20K for pristine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What is he asking for it. $20K would be a good buy if it all checks out as described...

Right now he just said shoot him a fair price. I just want to make sure I'm not trying to screw him. I was thinking $20k was about right

How many miles are on the chassis?

The mods and new engine don't make it worth a dime more... in fact, to many, it makes it worth less.

We want some pictures before we can make a decision!

Huh? This isn't a numbers matching 356 coupe.. it's a 996 with a reman engine. New engines fetch a premium as the factory remanufactured ones are more robust than original m96s. The mods are variable (GT3 suspension is a big plus and value enhancer, while 19" non OEM wheels are a big meh). Turbo bumper on an mk1? I'd have to see it. If you like the mods, I'd be comfortable buying in the 20-25k range.

How many miles on the chassis? If over 100k I'd push below 20k. If the chassis & peripheral systems are low mile & pristine, value could be north of 20k. This all assumes it's a Porsche factory remanufactured engine or a well built aftermarket one like FSI.

OEM engine with 997 IMSb & reman part number:
- low chassis miles, up to $25k
- high chassis miles, up to $20k

Unknown engine or used OEM m96 from a parts car:
- low chassis miles, $17-20k
- high chassis miles, $14-17k

Just my opinion, it may vary from the market where you are. Good luck whatever you choose.

Thank you everyone for the help! The chassis has 75K miles on it. I think I have a good sense what to offer now. Here's a pic

This one went for $24K on BAT; the new engine adds a fair bit to the value.

Just realized you said new factory engine with 5k miles on it.. that's a pretty nice package. From the pic the mods look to be tastefully executed. $20-22k I think is a good price for the buyer. It may fetch as much as $25k on BringATrailer, but that's a bit on the high side as far as market value goes.

Lucky position to be in, that seems like a good one.

18-20k. Can't go wrong with midnight metallic. If it's got black interior even better.

I think he's around $25K, which I think is fair. The new factory engine adds a lot of value. He's taken incredible care of it.

New factory engine? How did he get a hold of that since Porsche is not providing new factory engines for these cars? Maybe I'm wrong would be curious to know how much that engine cost.
