Back to the Mile
Back 3/13 I ran a 203.9 and my best 1/2 was 173. Since then I've done a lot of work to the car. Custom plumbing, bigger turbos, custom transmission, syvec standalone, tilton clutch, DSS axles. This will be my first real road test only dyno and a couple of highway blasts.
I'll start out easy on Friday and try to break it on Sunday
My speed limit based on safety gear will be 215 should not be a problem. My goal will be a 185+ 1\2 mile speed. The syvec launch control/traction control/boost by rpm is amazing. We'll see if I can get it all dialed in for Sunday morning high boost runs.
I'll keep you guys posted

That's a fast (fastest?) 993 turbo..
How much hp do you need to go 185+ in the 1/2 and 215 in the mile ? 1000+
What tires do you run and how's the stability at 200, do you have any special aero bits? Engine/trans cover?

I'm up 200 hp from the last visit to the Texas Mile plus the custom trans should be good for +10 mph
The car is very stable at 200 with ps2s. Now I have the r888 so will see.
No Areo bits other then remove mirrors and put vynil wrap over the rain gutter /drip rail

Can I ask, does the Syvecs get inputs from head temps, turbo temps and IAT and does it vary boost/fuelling through tables referenced to these temps (like the factory set up) ?

Head temp, IAT,EGT,MAP,CET,fuel comp, and other inputs are being used
The knock control is very advanced and the processing speed can pull timing per cylinder per rpm up to 20000 RPMs. Something crazy fast like that

So it controls boost/fuelling in response to these temp inputs like factory ?

Yes ignition / fueling/ Map are altered in responses to high or low temps
Limp mode can be designed to suite

How is the low speed part throttle stuff, I know my pal in the UK gave up on the Syveks (for 996/7 turbo application) because the engines ran horribly for non WOT driving ?

MAP =Manifold absolute pressure so boost and vacuum
As far as low load/speed driveability. This is the most difficult part of the tune and takes a lot of patience.
When I first started the car it ran like crap because the base tune wasn't proven I had a hell of time sorting thru the issues. The injectors were the biggest issue, although the injectors were a matched set they didn't behave the same at idle. After I changed injectors the car ran much better and gave my a tune that was tweak able. I had the syvec guy make some tweaks to the idle and now the car run very good. I have one remaining issue, Hot start, the car will crank for a couple of seconds occasionally when hot and then start at a very low speed. I'm adding a oil temp sensor for the syvec to provide a second temperature reference for hot start. It's a minor thing but the car will run like factory when I done.
The way I did the install retains all the factory gauges/OBD2 port/ drivers block and ABS. So i can't share the thermistor type sensors.
If it wasn't for the injector and my lack of experience the project went without issue.
