Rufus just got appraised for Stated Value insurance
I recently asked State Farm for a modest bump in my stated value insurance, and they asked me to provide a "Replacement Value" appraisal. I called Auto Appraisal Network and they sent a guy to my house to look over the car, look over the documentation, and take dozens of photos. I just got the report... $149,600. I went over to my local State Farm office, and they wrote an increase to that stated value, effective today.
This is very timely, because 4 Nitwits (including Rufus and I) in 3 Porsches are meeting in Montana for a fabulous (I hope) 8-day road trip. Joe Ramos from Half Moon Bay in his GT3, and Terry Adams from North Carolina (yes, used to live here in Cupertino) in his 997 Turbo, who is bringing a co-driver with him. Joe and I leave tomorrow, and Terry left yesterday.
Wish us luck and no tickets!

Steve: Great trip. Hope you guys have an awesome time.
Kevin: I, too, have AAA and am paying a ton for multiple cars. We need to talk to Steve when he returns.

Good job Steve.
I just bought my TT and Firemans Fund agreed to an increased lock value over the amount I paid for the TT. I had to submit paid receipts listing all the upgraded work, and they added the amount to the total paid value, including the taxes paid.

That's great information. That report helps us all, especially us Rufaholic's.
Have a wonderful trip. Be safe.

Do you have any data? All I can say is that my policy clearly states that in case of a total loss they will pay me the STATED value for the car. I'm not a lawyer, but that seems pretty clear.

Whatcha mean?
Perhaps I'm using the wrong terminology. I stated a value and they confirmed its worth at least that much.
I had to bring it to em and they examined it and took pics and such....process took a few weeks. Is that not the correct procedure?
Thanks
Joe
