Default Radio Replacement

I am seeking advice about replacing my existing radio with a unit that has an aux. input on the back of the unit so I can hard wire for my xm antenna connection and not have it sticking out the front. Thanks in advance.

If you have a cd changer and don't mind disconnecting it, just run a RCA cord from the trunk into the cabin

If you don't have a cd changer you can go a couple of ways. First would be to replace your head unit with a "period correct" unit. There are a limited number of options if you go this route. The OEM radios were made by Becker. Becker Autosound offers several of these radios with auxiliary inputs. Here's a link: http://www.beckerautosound.com/plug_...e%20index.html FYI: the Becker radios pictured require a minor modification to your radio wiring harness while the Blaupunkt units are plug and play.

The second option is to use a modern single-din radio with auxiliary inputs. There are a large number of options if you go this route. Take a look at Crutchfield to get a sense of what's available.

Good luck.

Get a cdr 220. It's a factory replacement from late 98 993s and 986/996. Then get the aux cord from Becker. Very easy.
