Did it with a friend of mine. It obviously took a lot of trial and error and around 10 hours to get it done. What a pain in the *** to get the torque tube out of the way. You need to take out the front diff and that's maybe the most annoying thing as there's not really space to get it with the torque tube on the way.
Also the bolts that hold the transmission cover on are very hard to get. The circlip was pretty easy as I had long enough circlip pliers.
Also make sure you lift the transmission high enough before tightening the mount as the ball joint of the shifter will otherwise hit the underside panel.
It's possible to do it without removing the engine but it isn't exactly easy for a first timer.
My transmission fluid was all black which proves the VC was shot.
