Default Fair price?

I was wondering if anyone could give me their opinion on a vehicle that I am considering purchasing. It is a 97 TT, black/black with 25,000 miles. It has the supple leather and aluminum package. I had my previous 911 (1990 C4) serviced by the same mechanic who maintains this car. He says the car is perfect. The purchase price is looking like it is going to be $70k. It is being sold by a private party. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Depending upon how the PPI (I would still take it somewhere else just in case) turns out, $70K is not a bad price IMHO. Other things to consider. Is this the original owner? Do you have full records? Has there been any body work (your mechanic may not be able to tell. Sometimes you may want a body pro to take a look) I'd still try to get it down into the high $60s. If not and you like the car, buy it.

Good luck...

I second the comments of Bob and Jeff. Checkout www.993tt.com they have some good info about things to look for when buying one of these cars and the upgrade possibilities . If all looks good the price is not unreasonable.

Good luck,

The car is one owner, stock, no mods. It also has been stored winters. Didnt someone recently post that they purchased a 97TT last winter for $61k (~35k miles)? What do you guys feel the range of prices would be for this beauty. Thanks for all of the advice, look forward to joining the exclusive club.

$70K for a clean 97 TT seems like a fair price....a deal would be $65-67K IMO...and I would not expect to see anything under $65K unless it was a '96.

I would guess that a dealer would offer him $64-67K and they will in turn try to get $70-75K for the car...that may give you some idea of price ranges.

Good luck!
