This thread makes me wonder if it's possible to make a good gt2 look from a narrow 993...

Yes, the car is ex-Jochen, GT2 uprights and PSS10 dampers.

Depends on what one's trying to emulate. The original GT2's, including the ClubSport's did NOT have flush rocker panels; the flares certainly had a tacked on look. The flush fenders only came with the later evo models, and even then it was a case by case thing with many teams.

This car was at a local car show a couple of years ago..noticed how flush his rockers are next to the flares....looks complete...don't get me wrong I love what many have done on this board but if I were to have a GT2 conversion, my rockers would have to be flush.
The RSR's were based on narrow body cars & the rear fender extensions were flush. The GT2's were based on the turbo body - rear fender extensions were not flushed into the rockers. GT2 Evo's had extended rockers, which enabled the fender extensions to sit flush.

FVD does sell a GT2 kit for the turbo body that includes extended rockers to achieve the flush look.

Like the wing or not it is functional, I can keep up with CUP cars in it's current trim...next season, forget about it...WOOT!!!

What colour is this car? Beautiful.

First evo body style, designed to use 14" rear rims. Tacking on to a tacked on. Seemed to work, but still couldn't beat the McLarens and Ferraris ... even with 600 hp. Hello GT1.

Although big wing and fender extentions are not for everybody, the GT2 just looks the part.
I love it. All of them on this thread look great.

I am not a fan of the overkill RWB however FWIW.

The question is would I ever do this to a unmolested turbo? It is a hard question to ponder.
But i do really, really like them and want one!

^^^
I thought there were body differences that made it more difficult to make a c2 into a wide body.

Nothing a little cutting and welding couldn't fix:
