Default GT2 turbo upgrades... what else will i need?

Just like the title states. I am planning on switching out the turbo for the GT2 ones. What else is needed, if needed at all? ie. extra oil cooler, intercooler, etc?

I would go with a bigger oil cooler than the turbo s one especially in California. Have you spoken to Kevin at UMW? I think this is the way I would go with his hybrid turbos.

Don't go with the stock GT2 (K24) turbos, call Kevin, and get his zero clearance stuff, much better units than the K24's,better spool, you will need a new Software flash!!

Are you itching for more power?

I have the K24s but have driven the factory setup too, the prior owner did my upgrades and honestly I wouldn't even think about doing it unless my turbos were shot. I'm also running the factory intercooler and no additional oil cooler. No issues on them after 12yrs and almost 60K miles.

thanks for the response... it's ugly... once you get use to the boost you always want more... so i guess i'm trying to go slowly, but as safe as possible.
ill call Kevin and pick his brain a little bit......

Where in SoCal are you? I have 16/16G set up from Protomotive and would be happy to let you experience the difference. This is comparable to a UMW Stage 1 or Stage 2 set-up. I forget which one.

I'm in Ventura County.

running a non stock setup on track in California I would go with a bigger oil cooler and/or intercooler.
that being said I think you should keep the gt3 for track and leave the 993 alone and enjoy it on the street...or buy a higher mileage tt that has already been modded (maybe even widebody) and buy it at at discount.

Thanks Chad.... I'm located in Irvine, so not too close. I do like your set up. Your TT looks awesome. If I'm ever in the area, I'll give you a shout out.

In terms of my gt3 as only track and the tt for street, I've come to enjoy the track-like set-up. You only live once, might as well enjoy the ride to its full potential. So I guess tt is being modded

If you track it I highly recommend the Cargraphics type oil cooler and Andial Intercooler.
I had that on my previous FVD 490 (K-24 based) car and it work beautifully.
(The S oil cooler was not sufficient at Buttonwillow in the summer)
