Default Scissor lift or Max Jax?

Hello, what is best in your opinion? Scissor or Max Jax?

Max Jax seems superior but Scissor is just so portable.

And for storage it's never okay to leave vehicle up in the air with suspension unloaded right? (wheels hanging). I think that's a no no but just verifying.

Thanks!

I have a max jax and love it. I had my floors cut and used j bolts instead of their anchor kit. It's a bit more work than the scissor lift but imo worth it.

Same choice here, Went with MaxJax +993. Shortly after, need to replace starter. Having clear access to drivetrain and engine was great, that was the concern with Scissor. Folks seem to have made the Scissor work for them for engine and trans work.

Ground clearance is more an issue with Scissor then MaxJax.

Drill a test hole to confirm garage floor thickness if in doubt before buying.

Costco had a sale in December.

Yup, do not hang car in the air (for storage with wheels on) as suspension hanging for long periods (months) is not good on those parts.

I bought a mid rise scissor lift a month or two ago. So far it has been great. I sill eventually cut a hole in the floor and make a pit for it to sit in. My only complaint is that a cross bar is in te way for dropping the transmission. I have read of a modificafion for this problem, I have not gotten to it yet though. The manufacturer calls this mid rise portable but its heavy and hard to move around if you do want to move it.

I had the scissor, hard to move, poor access, got rid of it.
