Default Will 18x8.5 ET40 fit in the front with 235/40-18, lowered? How much camber is needed?

Around RS ride height, fenders mildly rolled... and I have searched. Closest I've found is:

https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...van-tciii.html (18x9 +46mm with 235/40/18, unknown camber)
https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...or-993-wb.html (18x9" with 245/40-18, unknown offset, unknown camber)

I'm hoping this isn't a case of "won't know till you try"... Appreciate any links or pics!

The most aggressive for the front I've seen is 18x9 234/40/18 at 43 offset
And 18x8.5 at 45 offset. Don't know the camber for either. If your fenders are rolled I think they should fit, but they're going to be tight. Unfortunately I do suspect it's 'won't know unless you try' thing. Please repot back if you do try. I made up a spread sheet a while back with all the numbers posted/wheel and tire width to decide on what I wanted. Depends a little in tire manufacturer too -brand x 235 is not the same as brand y in terms of width.. I'm running 18x8.5 255/35/18 offset 52 at -2 to -3.5 chamber but that doesn't help you. There's some good offset calculators on the net to see where the outer lip ends up depending on the offset relative to others. Good luck!

That does help a bit, the more data points to extrapolate from the better. I assume you have camber plates and run -2 on the street vs -3.5 on the track. Are there any pictures your car at -2? And what tires are you running?

If you think about it, at 9" width and offset 46mm, cf 8.5" at 40mm, the 9" wheel has 1.27 cm more width divided by 2 = 0.635 more on in-board and out-board. So at 40 off set and 8.5, you would have 46-40 = 6 more out board but 1.27 narrower, so cf the 9" wheels, you will be only 0.035mm more out-board - ie. only 0.035mm wider(out-board) cf the 9" wheels. So should probably fit if you believe the 9" 46mm offset.

see my previous thread for pics this was at -2 chamber, I'm running about a cm lower in ride height cf these pics (low 90mm front and mid to high 90'smm in rear - measured from suspension components/stock measurement positions). I was able to fit the 255 front/315rear at -2 chamber (toyo R888). The tires in the pics are 235/315 (front/rear). I'm running pretty much max castor in front (to increase wheel base - ie the front wheels are pushed as far forward as possible) and I was getting a little rub on full lock in the front with the wheel liner but I pulled my wheel liner a little forward with zip ties so I don't have any rubbing any more. https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ferrerid=28499

I have a set of E88s at ET40 lowered to RS + 10mm with 245 fronts. It rubs when suspension compresses. It looks a bit too aggressive for me and I am looking to rebuild it with 1.5" outer rim halves instead of the 2" it's got right now.

I ran 18x8.5 ET44 with 235 width tires and no rubbing or issues. Car was around ROW height and didn't have any aggressive alignment settings.

Just to confirm, that's 18x8.5 ET40? Are there any pictures of your setup?

Great, would you mind sharing some pictures of this?

Yup. Am in Asia flying back this weekend. I will hunt for some pics but not sure I ever photographed a side profile. The Fikses are in now until I sort the offsets

This is the only pic I kept and no side profile. It is my summer project to move the ET from "40" to "50" as well as refinishing it to silver. The Fikses are a perfect fitment.
