Cutting to the chase ... Manthey's a little optimistic at 500 hp and RUF is more than a little conservative at 490 hp. But regardless of what Manthey's bits produce, the product in terms of responsiveness and driveability is miles ahead of what the factory 450 hp kit offers, which is why I did it. The improvement is particularly noticeable exiting slow corners where the turbo lag is reduced significantly and "more" hp is produced. K24's do a good job once they're spooled up. Since I already had all the necessary hardware I just sent the ecu to Ansgar Wiesen for retuning, since he was Manthey's tuner. BIG difference. And there was another big difference when the car returned to London a couple of years later, having spent a bit of time in P'haussen.

You're so confused...

But since you brought it up...

You said that you can buy a sub 20k mile car for low 80s...
https://rennlist.com/forums/10360457-post7.html

My reply was not in support of any dealer...but merely bringing to light that buying a sub 20k mile in the low 80s will not happen...you appear to make it seem it's an everyday occurrence because you personally have done so or appear to know so...not like there's tons of sub 20k mile cars readily available for comparison...
https://rennlist.com/forums/10364444-post17.html

One car does not make the market...
https://rennlist.com/forums/10360822-post11.html
Despite it being awhile back and taking awhile....is there something about this deal you personally know of?

Plus you appear to claim "most" Rennlisters won't pay up....I don't agree with that assessment...

If you have owned more than one car at a time, then the picture is very clear...

Actually I have owned mulitple cars for the last 20 years, I still drive them all and enjoy them. I do not look at them in the garage as an investment. I much rather have a car that has 70k ($60k) miles that i drive all the time than a car that has 25k ($75k) miles and am scared to drive

Seems like a pretty simple opinion in my mind

The signal to noise ratio in this thread is pretty grim. Let's try not to make it any worse.

Your preference...not simple opinion

Appears budget constraints may have dictated your choices...just saying

For me, I prefer the $75k car over the 70k mile car...

But back to your originally query

Manthey is not a very known tuner choice her in the states

While Ruf is more widely known

Plus RAC Performance is not an authorized Ruf tuner anymore

who the hell are you to say what I can afford, absurd and arrogant statement. $15-$18k isnt going to make or break me. I gave my reasons, period.

i am done, thanks tho for ruining a simple topic, bravo for you champ

to the ones that did respond i do appreciate it.

also, thanks again SMC, your last few lines like the rest of your post are pretty much worthless

Didn't say what you could or couldn't afford

Said "may have" indicating that only you would really know or choose to

But glad $15-18k is not a bank buster for you

But enlighten us why then you indicated that paying more would make you "am scared to drive"...

As to "your last few lines like the rest of your post are pretty much worthless" comment, ask yourself:

Do you want to deal with a Manthey upgrade that servicing is not readily available, but maybe you don't mind bringing your car from Memphis to Dallas for service...

Though Ruf is more widely known then Manthey, and you query about RAC Performance, which is no longer Ruf authorized, do you want your car stuck in the middle of those politics?

And at the end of the day, it was my bad to assume sarcasm was not going to ruffle your feathers, but you did have a choice to refrain from your "smart ***" comment...

If you find this all worthless, then I'm saddened you don't have wider eyes to discern the difference...

This is only Rennlist...
