i data logged just about eveything under full load the IAT was 91 degrees f. I'm still shocked on a post compressor temp of 300 degrees. The 18gs were getting toasty for a couple of seconds anyway. The billet wheels didn't explode so that's a good thing.

I have the data logs in excel format So ask away

91 f post ic/iat under full load to 200+ mph is pretty impressive. I think Brad (acropora) was seeing 200f iat on the track with his proto 3.8. 300f post turbo/pre ic temp is pretty hot, might be at the limit of most air temp gauges (if not over and may not be accurate?) Is that with water/meth injection? do you have an idea how much the water/meth is helping? 1/4 mile mph?
Do intercooler temps slowly continue to increase or does it start to plateau?
From memory my post ic temps were around 90f to 145mph, didn't have pre ic temp gauge at the time.
What was ambient temp?

Basel,
I never finished my fresh air intake so I have a cone filter in the front of the engine. I realize this is bad but I ran out of time before the event. With that said, I did record engine bay temps of 110 f ( I think) and abient temps were around 70
this intercooler runs 20 to 25 degrees cooler than stock IC. This claim is based on data log speed run up to 140 Same abient temps both IC s were set up with watermeth.
For me the water meth works great the down side is the fittings and components are crap. I will be re pumping my system in the near future. Just before the event I was testing everything a found 4 leaking fittings after only a year in use. yes the temp gauge stop reading at 300

From your I/C build thread it looks like there's still room on the side to squeeze in some kind of snorkel (cold air intake). Can't wait to see how it turns out also with some kind of shroud to direct the air through the I/C. Fantastic and as I said, put me in line .

Happy easter

This looks like great fun, what a superb set up your car looks beautifully prepped for the run and you've done a real pro job on the engine.

To get to 204 in the mile in your 993 represents a solid 750PS

Can you tell me how the meth works ? is it spraying into the post intercooler boosted air ? is that where you are measuring your 91F ie post intercooler boost air cooled with meth ?

Do you have data on the cylinder head temperatures during the run ? My understanding is that this is the problem area for the aircooled turbos and why the race engines over 600PS are houred with often brand new set of heads required at 20 hours due to the heat warping and generally destroying the heads....

I made the molds and will be laying up the carbon fiber soon.
here's a sneak peek

I also added 3 2400 cfm fans to the top of the intercooler to fight off heat soak at low speed. Still testing but result are very positive.

The water/meth comes on at a set IDC injector duty cycle combined with boost pressure. So at .6 bar the system come on and the pulsing valve is tied to the IDC so the spray has the same frequency as the IDC. The jets are setup at the V band connection just before the throttle body. The AIT sensor is downsteam of the jet but not directly in the spray. The AIT sensor is in the center section.
So yes post intercooler.

Cylinder head temp peaked at 285 degrees F. I agree about the problem with air cooled. This is the reasoning behind the water injection. if I ran straight meth i could tune like race fuel but I would loose the cooling advantage water offers. So I run a premix 50% water and 50% meth. This way I get little bump octane wise and a big cooling advantage in the combustion camber thru the vaporization of the water. If the system fails to flow it shuts down the boost controller. if i detect knock I get my foot out of it. The only problem I see with water /meth is the quality of the fittings supplied. I with high end fitting companies in the semiconductor industry. So I will be re plumbing soon.

BTW the tank is inside the front bumper

Hi
Very impressive speed. Looking forward to seeing the finished air box too (and to you opening a shop for those of us that would love to purchase). How and where are you measuring the head temps?

I was measuring head temps thru the OBD11. It's a bit laggy but works

I hit 230.7 in the ford. I set a record for fastest supercharged ford ever. I didn't have a big enough trailer plus it was my first trip to the texas mile so I wanted to get my feet wet first. I'll be heading back in October so you just might see both cars there
