check for sale section speed yellow993 has a good set for $1000. he is a friend of mine btw. on second thought I think they are from 996 turbo which some people prefer and some don't.

Thanks for the heads up. I did see those and they are indeed 996tt twists. Nothing "wrong" with them and they have the obvious benefit of being 11" rears. I just think the more flowing design of the 993 twists is better suited to the flowing lines of the 993 body. IMHO, of course.
