So far the car is doing well, but I have not driven far from the house. Tomorrow or Saturday I will go for a long drive (and maybe not a long walk back home!). In the meantime I am going to get a back-up DME to keep in the car.
I hope you guys who went to the rally in Eureka Springs are having a good time.

Last time my DME went, I had literally pulled into a dealer, bought a spare for the glove compartment, got back in the car and it wouldn't start. Changed the DME and it started immediately. Smart cars we have.

Default Okay, reporting back....

I changed the relay (36 bucks) a few days ago and have had no further problems. I took the car out for a drive today (approximately 20 miles) and no hiccups.
Some may find it of interest that the car would die at any time. Everywhere from sitting in the garage idling to high revving on the highway.
And I genuinely appreciate all the help from the board. I was about ready to trailer the car to the dealer when I decided to check here. You guys saved me a bunch of money and time!

I wish I'd seen this earlier. I had the same problem in September. Replaced the DME with my spare and everything's been fine since.

I'd love to see your turbo sometime. I travel through your area about twice a month for business in Texarkana. If you'd like to visit sometime or you need any help send me a message. I'll PM you my contact info as well.

For future reference, I had the exact same symptoms and it wasn't the DME - it was the aftermarket ECU. I sent it to Kevin who I think had the sockets resoldered or the chip reseated and haven't had any problems since.
