Default Immobilizer- alarm problem

Can someone give me some advice with this problem. I have no remote. I open the door manually with a single key on my 993TT. The problem is that every time I go to turn on ignition I have to re enter the immobilizer code. It's a pain entering it every time I shut the car off. If I shut it off and come back I have to re enter the code to crank the engine on. Has anyone experienced the same issue? I have the 4 digit code which I enter by turning ignition X amount of time. I should also mention that my car has no radio, the person who sold it to me sold it with this problem and appears the radio was ripped out. Don't know if that has to do anything with it and the alarm issue. Thank you for any input.

US car? Why not get a remote? I don't think that there is an easy way to override the immobilizer.

yes, US car. I will get a remote, problem is I don't know if previous owner may have done something weird, in terms of alarm etc. Will try that. Thanks.

If the immobilizer code is working, you should have no problem programming a remote. The alarm is tied to the radio, but everything should still work with the radio removed.

So if I don't have the remote we could see this problem happening, where I would have to manually input the codes every time I crank correct? I will get a remote and see if that works. Thanks for the advice.

Yes. Without the remote you have to enter the code as you are currently doing. The remote will solve your problem.

OK,Got a remote, how do I program it? Is it easy to do? I see the manual and there is a process that requires at least 45 minutes etc.... If someone in NY could do it, I wouldnt mind going to them. Thx

If you have the code, follow this procedure:

I'm assuming the radio code is not the immobilizer code as well? How do you get the latter?

The immobilizer code should be on a card with the owners' literature from when the car was purchased new (much like the radio code). It's also on a sticker on the immobilizer control unit (under the driver's seat). Additionally, your Porsche dealer can look it up with your VIN number.
