Thanks again guys. You are almost as nutty as I am. A few more specific comments:
Texas993: Patrick, first of all, thanks again for that Ruf key head. I am the envy of every Rufaholic that sees it. And trust me... they ALL see it! I have always wondered about the number of Turbo Rs built world wide, and how many are in the States. Also the 993 BTRs... a much smaller number I am sure.
Bardford: Scott, I don't hate BMWs. They are great driving machines. Just be sure to unload it before it gets out of warranty. I simply don't trust them.
CP: Pong, thanks for your early morning call to inquire about the instruments. You'll be next up to get them. My devil's work here is just about done. Mawhahhahaaa <an evil laugh>
Sonny1: Dang. I wish I knew about the white pointers before I got my instruments back. Its not worth redoing, even if P.A. Speedo has those white pointers. Sigh. But I mentioned this to Pong. Mawhahhahhaaa.
BLT4SPD: You better hurry. They started with 6 sets, 3 for sure are gone, and some of their sets have the Tiptronic gear selection display on the (speedo??) dial.
Thanks again, my fellow nitwits.

Steve,
I talked to PA Speedo. They do not have white needles, and we cannot paint them white as we will lose the reflective property for night driving. Needles stay red now as a safety measure.
This thread is causing me a ton of conflict. I don't know if I should curse you or thank you. Sigh.....

Pong,
Oh for goodness sakes... you'll never be able to get this done for such a reasonable price. I'll remind you... Ruf gets $2800+ exchange to do your gauges!

I feel so... I don't know. Dirty. Like a drug dealer. Actually we can all put the blame on the newest Rufaholic, Mickfluff for this evil. Yes... tell Margaret it was Mickfluff's doing.

Steve, I know you've been wanting these for a long time. They look great! BTW, my Techart gauge faces read in kilometers also. Time to use the digital speedo.

Anybody see a digital go over 200 mph? This Mag from 1998 says they did 200, no mention of any tranny work, The car had Turbo R conversion & suspension according to the article.

Steve,
You are right, I have mph in the OBC. Good solution.
Rare911, I have seen 180 as indicated on my speedometer (likely optimistic). I ran out of road but feel that it definitely had the pulling power and room on the rpm to get to 200. The original owner told me that Alois personall ,tested the car after conversion and "certified" the 200+ speed on the autobahn. Makes for a good story, but I have no reason to believe it wasn't true. The original owner told me the story two years after I bought it!
It is definitely a fast car.
