Default Oil pressure gauge shows maximum all the time

After having reinstalled my 993 Turbo's engine, I noticed that the oil pressure gauge goes off the scale -- maximum pressure -- all the time. Even when the engine is not running (ignition on), it shows maximum pressure. Any idea what I could have overseen?

Thanks!

sender is boned.

check the wiring, the wires are thin and are stretched a bit on some cars.

You only need to remove the IC shroud, not the whole IC

Thanks for the tip. I remove the intercooler shroud, cleaned the connectors at the sender and gave the sender a light tap with the handle of a screwdriver. All is well now.
