I had this happen in two of the 993TT's for two different reasons.

- the alternator was about to die [ and it did]
- the connection into my ECU was loose [long story].

I am with Quadcammer - ECU hiccup.
Start with the obvious connections, ECU relay, ECU fuses, ECU plug. .....go internal if no joy.

That looks sweet. Congrats and hopefully this minor problem is almost over. Enjoy in good health.

same happens to me sometimes, only one time in a drive and only by driving on highway 30-60 m/H
my mechanic check it and find nothing on computer, could be one of the 4 lambda sonde
will see

Hi again and thanks for new replies. After checking the simple/obvious connections I have removed the ECU and arranged for the tuner to examine and test/repair as needed. Will let you know how this maneuver turns out.
Other than the occasional "hiccup" she is a delightful beast to drive. Can be mild-mannered in traffic (well, except for the burbling exhaust), or a screamer when I put my foot in it. All good fun!

did you replace the ECU relay ?
common issue on 993's, and a spare should always be kept handy....

Thanks for the suggestion, if the ECU diagnostics do not turn anything up I will be ready to investigate further.

Update:
Tuner who modified the ECU discovered incomplete contact at the socket between the mother and daughter boards. Now repaired/replaced. Test drive this evening without incident. Will log some miles and see how it goes but I am hopeful.
Thanks again for all who took time to think about this issue and reply.

I'm loving the Guards Red Jonathan. The cashmere hardbacks are great too.

Cheers

150mi and no blips yet, still "testing" with good results. As the tv show title says, "It's always sunny in Philadelphia".
Rennlisters are a great resource.
