We are working up new 993 C4/TT torque tube rebuild parts and have found problems with the 993 C4/TT torque tube drive shaft.
We are currently looking into making new 993 C4 drive shafts as replacements and need a few more broken ones to study. If you have a broken drive shaft (not the whole torque tube) laying around that you would like to donate to the cause please contact me at: constantine@blackseard.com
We will pay for all shipping expenses.
Thank you,

Sorry, I have no broken parts for you, but I'm curious about this problem... I haven't heard that C4/TT torque tubes/drive shafts were an issue. What are the symptoms when they fail?

We've been contacted in the past about rebuilding the 993 and 964 torque tubes and decided to look into doing them.
Symptoms of a bad torque tube are usually noise and as it gets worse, vibrations felt through the shifter.
Symtoms of a 993 broken drive shaft are mainly loss of power to the front wheels and some noise. Most won't notice this unless they are really tuned into their 993 and/or really push it while drving where the loss of power to the front wheels becomes evident.
Attached are two photos showing a broken 993 drive shaft in a torque tube. The design of the drive shaft is the culprit that sets up this problem. We are designing a new one to stop this failure and make them availble to 993 C4/TT owners.
Best regards,

Porsche does not make any replacement torque tube parts, they only sell replacement tubes for Porsches with torque tubes.
Our products have changed that as well as providing rebuilt torque tubes when customers need them and at a cheaper price and better quality than Porsche rebuilt units.
This work into the 993 (as well as the 964) torque tubes will be of benefit to others who find themselves in your position in the future.
By the way, we still need some broken 993 drive shafts if anyone has one!
