Default Thoughts on this one.....

As many of you know, I'm knee deep in my 930 slant right now, but...
I have the chance to trade it in (w cash) on a 96 993tt, blk on blk, 24k miles, stone cold stock, 30k service done, clean ppi, doctor owned(ha!), good paint/int, clean carfax, needs nothing. The seller was asking 85k on it.........with that small amt info whatta ya think?

Default 993TT

Member AGC has a 13k, bone stock, 96 blk/gray in NJ asking $87-88k. I think he's gonna advertise after he gets it serviced next week. That's a deal.

As you know, I've been through this recently.

Likely a good buy < $80K. Would not go over. Too many coming available as guys figure they can make a profit on what they bought a couple years ago.

In any case make sure they shot the paint!!!

As an aside, the 993TT as a driver may be the best Porsche I've ever driven. Perfect balance of civility and (useful) Force. Would be tragic for the 991 if this secret gets out. It's a true 505, I wouldn't be so fast to part with it...

Coming from an older generation car onto the TT I would not give the TT back. Still air cooled and classic look inside and outside with notable improvements.

Having both would be nice!

I have both, a '91 Turbo and an '07 TT and there's no way i am trading my '91 for anything out there

The feel, the interior leather smell, the solid thud of the doors closing, the wide *** rear fenders and of course the exhaust burble ...can't be beaten.

C2 Turbo, I agree with you in that I would not give up a 91 for an 07.

I went from an 87 to a 96. I was afraid to lose the classic feel and classic shape but I find that both have the smell, noises, etc ... you are talking about (believe the OP is also considering a move between these two different generations of air-cooled cars) and I do not find myself regretting the 87. I don't think I'll ever own a more modern 911 than what I got - could have bought a nice 997 TT for what I paid for my (modified) 993 TT.

Don't get rid of the slant nose. Only add to your stable if you can accommodate.

Doctor owned, that's funny!

With a clean PPI, that car needs to be much closer to high-high $70's to low-low $80's in a private sale.

You really don't want a "cold stone stock" +15 year old suspension. Expect to spend near $5,000 (parts for something like PSS10's, labor and an expert alignment plus Walrod bushings) to make this "right".

Car is super clean, worn decklid shocks, seats more worn than a 30k or less car, looks to have had a top end done, drives like a 15 yo car. 3 owners. No water is right, will need 5k. Worth 70k imo.
Not enuff to make me jump, anybody interested pm me.
