AMGfan 1997 993tt Build...

If you're changing the flywheel I'd look at a stronger clutch. I have two sitting in my garage I just realized, lol.
The k16/16g turbo mod could be smart if you're thinking of modding the ecu. Then you could call it done...maybe...

i know this car well clutch was changed recently, personally i wouldn't change the wheels as they suit the car perfectly, the turbo s lip and brake ducts are a good upgrade besides that the car is so perfect i'd let it be. just my .02

sfbanchs...I met with the tuner house owner today about the build. He reiterated your idea on keeping the wheels especially since we are no longer considering the GT2 body. They look great and the only change we might consider is probably moving them out just a smidge...maybe 7mm? Not sure yet...we need to make some measurements...
I've already ordered the brake ducts and with brake inlet kit with foglight, clear lenses, Turbo S front chin spoiler through Carnewal. The bumperettes are coming off...front and back. The body and paint guy we use is old school Porsche restoration type of guy and has done too many bumperette removals that he advised me to save my money and not get the Euro front and rear bumpers.
I'm excited because the paintwork this guy has done on my GTR was beyond my expectations. The Porsche restorations he has done I have seen were also spectacular...I need this paint as perfect as it can be before we apply the Xpel Ultimate film.
More to come...

16/16g
+1 on the Protomotive 16/16g & ecu mod by Todd Knighton(Protomotive). I just did this and can't say enough good things on how it really perked it up.
If your like me you'll get bugged that your 4200lb Merc can walk your 993tt. The 16/16g will help eliminate those feelings. At least it did for me. The torq of the 55k motor still impresses me but the 3rd and 4th gear pulls at near 1.0bar of boost really make the 993tt feel right.

Chad...thanks...I'm still working through my due diligence on the engine modifications so I will keep that in mind. Protomotive and Todd seem to be highly recommended!
I had an E55 and its best time was 11.8 on the 1/4 mile so yes they do have some torque...but my SL65 stock (its not stock though) blew it away. At this stage, low 11's on the SL65 are doable with my drag wheels and radials. The Switzer GTR will break 9's @ 165mph+ in the 1/4 mile so right now real speed isn't my true goal with the 993tt.
It is drivability, reliability, and Turbo S power levels (or a smidge more)... Currently, I am enjoying the heck out of the current setup...so much win.

Didn't see that you had a Switzer GTR. Nevermind then as all things will feel "slow" compared to it. The 993tt will be an enjoyment in many other ways as you have already discovered.
Btw...drivability and reliability is why I went with Protomotive as well. Just so happens you get much more than Turbo S power and no downside IMO. Kevin at UMW also has a comparable configuration that multiple members here have and are also very happy. Either package is a winner.

The LM's came in yesterday and I had them put on this afternoon. I love them...the Fikse we are keeping as a spare set whenever I go on the track...plus we are going to paint the centers. Sorry for the terrible pics...cell phone. Thanks to Nick (Nurburger) for the great set of wheels!
