19" Ruf Wheel Problem
#16
malcolmd - You are correct, rubbing on the rearward side of the inside well of the front wheels on max turn out. You think a 7mm spacer will fix?
Bradford - Yes, I'm using the one on the right. Your left spacer, would you be using the longer stud from your rotor for both spacer and wheel?
boostid - Yes, I just recheck and my front do rub from the inner side when I do a max turn. My right rear also rubbed. Deciding if I should go down to 21mm spacer on rear or do a negative camber adjustment. Your rear wheel seem more tilt in than mine. What degree is your rear camber at? Mine is at -1.2 left and right. I'm just afraid if going -2 / -2.5 will cause excessive tire wears.

At the time of the photo, my rear camber was a shade under -2.5. Am currently at -1.5. Still no rear rubbing problems. Keep in mind that each brand of tire is slightly different in both cross section and tread width, though pretty small. I'm guessing the Michelin Pilot Sport might be slightly more robust than other brands. Other than tire brand, you have pretty much the same setup as me. If it were me, Kenny, I'd increase the negative camber to -2/-2.5. The excessive tire wear didn't make much a difference with me since I drive less than 1K miles/year. At the same time, you might think about rolling the fender lips. Find someone who's good at it and uses the right equipment. Good luck....

My C4S is running F=8.5" ET 51, R= 11" ET44 after spacers with 235-35-19, 295/30-19 P-zero. Car sat lower than RS ride height. It has rolled rear fenders with no rubbing. Try 235 tires and 7mm spacers at front then roll rear fender lips. That should fix the problem.

^996, very-very nice Porsche! Great pictures. I have always like how are cars photograph in an "industrial setting". I also like how the dust from the road enhances the tire's tread pattern. Gotta get rid of the front plate, though. How about some painted rear bumperettes?

Got appointment this Thursday with alignment shop to do the rear neg camber adjustment. That should fix the problem. Now for the front, putting spacer will push my wheel out too far, won't be flush. Someone told me about steering limiter which limits the travel of the steering and is adjustable so the tires will not rub on the inside. Have anyone try this or have experience with it? Where can I even buy a steering wheel limiter?
996 - Your car is crazy low. Your front does not rub??

Thanks for the reminder. I was going to buy the Kinematic Toe Tool from Gert (Carnewal) and bring it with me on Thursday in case they don't have one. Is this the right tool? I think it cost $250 for the tool. Let me check.
