Default ultimate 993 track setup help needed.

Can some of you guys give me some setup advice on the kinematic, toe and camber for my car. the car is as follows

2 wheel drive
moton clubsport 800F 1000R springs
hoosier r6 295 front 335 rear
GT2 spindles
RS sway bars
Guard 60/80

I'm having some real trouble with the cars handling, the rear twitches a lot so I'm assuming it's the kinematic so the car is going on the rack tomorrow. any advice on where these settings should be would be greatly appreciated.

If the twitchiness happens under hard acceleration, and assuming there are no loose parts in your chassis, either your rear tires can be worn out or are underinflated, or you need to upgrade the rear subframe mounts. These mounts have to be changed regardless, when you upgrade power levels. The difference in stability is very noticeable.

If you want to go Motorsports parts:

4 X 993.331.527.83 cup
4 X 993.331.537.80 cup
2 X 993.331.529.80 spacer
2 X 993.331.528.80 radius cup
2 X 900.378.052.09 M12 X 80 bolt
2 X 900.378.088.09 M12 X 100 bolt
4 X 999.025.074.02 M12 large washer

Or FVD:

Or ERP (you can get them through Steve Weiner)

If the twitchiness happens under cornering and not acceleration, you need to look into your kinematic toe settings for sure and get them adjusted.

Rubber bushings, springs, suspension, etc.. all add to the stability and performance, however will not make your car feel unstable unless they are grossly worn out.

First of all you will need monoballs in all of your suspension control arms. You can either have them pressed in (ERP) or get new adjustable arms (ERP or rebranded arms). Jean mentioned the GT2 subframe mounts for the rear as well which you can pick up from the aftermarket.

What kind of coil overs do you have?

A good basic place to start for a track alignment with R6's is the following:

Front RS sway on full soft & 3.5 deg neg camber and .5mm toe out. If you have motons or JRZ's a 175 shock pressure with 3 bump and 3 rebound is a good starting point. This is with a 600 front spring

For the rear RS sway in the mid position, 3.0 deg camber & 2.5mm toe in. Shock pressue at 200 with 2 bump and 4 rebound with an 800 spring. Your spring rates are higher so you could run lower pressure

This is a setup of mine from years ago which was very very comfortable at the track. The toe out will keep you holding on the wheel tight on a long straightaway but will feel great at turn in. All of this is assuming that you have a correct rear kinematic toe aligned as well. If your car has all adjustable monoball everything i would highly recommend you take it to a race shop and have them set it up for you. It took many many poorly done alignments before I finally said screw it and took the car to a proper race $hop and the results were incredible.

Thanks for all the advice! I've been going nuts with this thing and it looks like you're right, I was waiting till the RS rear parts came in before I put in the subframe mounts, but it looks like thats the issue. I never would have guessed. Is this the same reason I can't get the kinematic to go lower than 3?
