Default Wanted 993 Turbo Transmission

I am looking for either a very low mileage or rebuilt transmission for my 1996 Turbo. My case is reusable so I can use a complete set of innards iinstead.

Thanks

Levino

A little history.

The car had 3 owners when I bought the car 3 years ago with 33,000 miles, now has 43,000 miles, the last 10,000 happy street miles.

The first owner is the one that spent the big bucks modifying the car in Germany at 10,000 miles and sold it 6 yrs later to someone into the US at 23,000 miles. Now it has 530 FWHP and 560 LB FT FWTQ.

The second owner babied the car and sold it at 26,000 miles, 3 years later.

The third owner however thought it would make a good race car and he put 8,000 hard miles on it on a Las Vegas race track and streets and that is where I believe the damage took place. In 2.5 years of too much abuse in shifting, lack of maintenance and too much power and voila. I now have a ton of parts that are worn beyond their mileage and need replacement.

The solution is to rebuild the existing or replace the guts, or completely replace the tranny and I am exploring my options.

Forgot to mention, this car would not downshift from 2nd to 1st unless at a total standstill since the day I got it. I was told it was 1st gear syncros and that it was common and not expensive to repair. Live and learn..

If you don't mind me mentioning you might save a lot of money trying a clutch and pressure plate first,
that sounds more like clutch plate failure than anything else and to be perfectly honest i rarely if ever downshift into first before coming to a complete stop !
Idoubt mine would do that either and its got 17K,43k shouldnt be time for a complete overhaul unless that second owner completely thrashed the thing! Bert
