Default Wierd Stall

I was driving at 60 MPH on the highway and got off on a relatively tight right hand cloverleaf off ramp. The car stalled either when I put the clutch in or right after. I coasted and restarted and away I went. The car was in sixth gear with a half tank of gas and the ramp was on a medium downward slope.

Any ideas?

Grab a new DME relay..........NOW.
I have a feeling you might need one.
Others will have ideas as well.

I had this issue, became more frequent and would cut out at higher RPM too. My wrench put his hand on it first attempt - the Crankshaft pickup sensor on the flywheel.

nope - I had this issue a number of years ago with my newly purchased 964 on the way home. First a couple of hiccups on the freeway followed a few minutes later by it going dead - all at speed and fully warm. Keep a spare in the car - cheap insurance

Everyone with a '96 and '97 Turbo should put a new DME relay in their car, and still keep a spare.

The older DME relay will have a 944 part number. A newer one is 993-615-22700.

My car did this once about three years ago. No repeats since. Circumstances almost identical. I carry a spare DME relay, but I wouldn't replace it unless it happens again.
