Default Insurance Coverage

What do you guys typically cover your 993TT's with on your auto policy? I'm moving to USAA, and they recommended a collector policy for my 1997 to make sure there's no excuses to not getting it fixed the way I want.

Anybody got any experience here?

Yeah, collector insurance is the way to go. Ideally an agreed price. You will need limited miles driven, no work miles etc. I believe grundy does those policies.

I use Grundy and have found their price reasonable. You can pick the insured value of your car which helps as you start spending a bunch of $$$ on upgrades and maintenance. I'm sure they have some cap but I have my C4S insured above market value since I just did a top end rebuild, new clutch/flywheel, and new suspension.

I also have a agreed amount policy. I haven't needed it, but if i did I could expect a no hassle claim. I'm limited to 10K Km's a year. I just insured it for the going value of $250000.
Thats a fair price?

I recently went with the Barrett-Jackson endorsed insurance company. Agreed value policy and saved $$$ as compared to former "Collector" policy.

Interesting! I'm with USAA and I didn't even know they had collector coverage. I'll be calling them first thing on Monday. BTW, USAA is awesome.

They farm it out to a 3rd party, but you get a discount, and they still honor it as part of your umbrella coverage. American Modern was mentioned (AMIG), so I'll be going down that path as well.
