Default Top end rebuild at 28k miles?

Have been eyeing this 993 Turbo at Truspeed

http://www.truspeedmotorcars.com/car...s.php?cid=1939

looks like a beautiful car but whats up with needing a rebuild at such low mileage? can any engine wizards comment on whether this is a red flag or nothing to worry about?

Porsche makes mistakes. Could have also been a missed shift. Whatever. As long as it was done right, and everything else checks out, I'd consider it a plus.

Car has a story that was discussed in another thread...may be OK now, but make sure you do your diligence.

Great color...needs Ruf Wheels to really set it off.

that interior looks a bit worn for 28k miles.

Why not take a look at Sloan's Turbo S for sale? He is in New Haven and you would be able to look at the cars personally.

Interesting... if you google the VIN you get a result of "Miles: 15700 Price: $62000.00. Features: •CD Player. •Tachometer. •Trip Computer. •Trip Odometer. Details • Inventory. 1996 Porsche 911 WP0AC2992TS375356 ..." but it's not possible to load that actual original page.

I've seen valve guides very loose at 30k miles on the 993 turbo. I know of two low milers like around this mileage that had exhaust guides replaced.
