Do Porsches, and their owners, exude arrogance?

Rowan Atkinson put it well. “I have a problem with Porsches,” he said. “They’re wonderful cars, but I know I could never live with one.
Somehow, typical Porsche people – and I wish them no ill – are not, I feel, my people.”

For many Porsche aficionados, the 993 Turbo is the one to have. It retains many of the instantly recognisable lines of the first 911 from way back in 1963 and is the last Porsche with that early car’s celebrated air-cooled engine. However, the twin turbos infuse it with a performance of such psychotic brutality it renders the Krays veritable ***** cats.

Unlike earlier Porsches, the 993 can be taken to speeds more commonly found in a spaceship, yet unlike later Porsches it still needs to be driven. It could, then, be the ideal classic Porsche.

Guess I'll have to get one...one day...
