Best way to get 97 ECU back to stock?
I just removed and inspected my ECU after driving another 993TT and realizing that my car is not nearly as linear and compliant as the other one I drove.
As I suspected, my ECU was reprogrammed in 1998 (as per the writing on the backside with the word "reprogrammed" and the date in 3/98 when it was done).
I'd like to get my ECU back to stock or a program that is better suited to the setup of the car in its current form. I stopped by my local Pcar dealer this morning as I have some friends there and they can't reprogram it (which I suspected but wanted to confirm as it's a 97 and not a 96 ECU).
Would like to avoid spending a small fortune on a new ECU as well...
Any and all thoughts/suggestions on this topic are greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

There are not a lot of guys reprogramming 993 ECU's. I would send it off to Protomotive and have Todd take a look. I am sure he can also re-flash it back to stock. In my opinion you should try and have a good program installed that delivers power and smoothness.

The car's prior owner, before me had it taken care of by Mark in Formula motorsports in NYC. When i had the car the ecu was not touched. It might be worth a call out to Mark. Hope that may help, thanks Bob

Looks like it was done in 1998 so it may be tough to go back that far...
