Default Clicking when in gear on throttle

For the past few months I have been bothered by a rapid clicking when the car is in gear and on throttle. It is most noticeable in the higher gears, but probably because the engine noise is less. The sound comes from the right rear. There is no noise if I am moving, but not on the throttle. There is no noise if I rev the engine in neutral. Earlier in the year, I thought this was from my transmission, but second gear broke in June and transmission was rebuilt. The noise is still there.
Rennlisters...any ideas?

I know you say the clicking sounds like it's coming from the right rear, but I had a similar noise and it turned out to be that the shift **** had worked its way loose and was rattling.

Thanks guys. It's not the shifter ****. The noise is not affected by turning, but I'll check CV joints. Keep the ideas coming...

Woah, disregard that last one. I don't know if the 993tt has a DMF...I thought I was in the 964 forum!

DONNY, YOU'RE OUT OF YOUR ELEMENT!
