Default DIY Air Filter change

Hey guys. I've done searches with no specific success. I've changed the air filter on the 993 cab myself, but don't know if it's possible to change the tt's without removing the intercooler itself.
Any suggestions???

Thanks in advance,
Adriano

While you should be able to get to the straps to undo the airbox cover, I'm not sure you'll be able to get the cover wide enough apart to get the old out/new in. You certainly can't remove the airbox lid with the IC in place.

I'd say worry about the filter the next time the IC comes off for other stuff.

I do think it sucks that the IC needs to come off for basically everything.

Thanks Quadcammer, why did I know that would be the case?
Well, I might as well get the experience.....hopefully I won't drop anything in the engine bay.

The only thing to really watch for is the nuts on the back of the lower intercooler bolts (that go through the fan housing).

Make sure you have your hand on that thing before you loosen the bolt.

Right on Chris. Removed the shroud, undid the clamps, and made like "Uncle Buck with the washing machine", but it came out. Cleaned and oiled the K&N filter, and put it back in tonight, with same wiggling ,jiggling and determination.Cleaned the MAF sensor.
Will take her out for a run tomorrow to see if it made any difference.
This is a great place!
