Default A special car for sale...Hans' 993 Andial TT Twin Plug

Guys-

Hans is out on his summer vacation and has tasked me to sell his driver, a spectacular '96 Andial TT. Here are the specs:

_________________________________________________________________
The 3.8 Conversion was done by Andial in 2001 at 42,000 miles.

Andial upgrades include on the car include the following: 3.8 Liter Twin Plug engine conversion, Carillo rods, Mahle pistons, enlarged intake valves, RSR camshafts, GT1 turbochargers, Andial Intercooler, and the ECU upgrade all combined to produce 580bhp on Super Unleaded pump gas.

There is an additional ECU that is included that will retune the car to produce 630bhp using 96+ octane fuel.

This 993 is finished in Polar Silver over Black Leather interior. All of the modifications have been very tastefully done including a very stealth installation of the EGT gauge mounted in the flip down ashtray.

_________________________________________________________________

The car currently has 79959 miles on the clock and is ready to roll! Anyone that has driven or ridden in this car will tell you it is brutally quick but it sounds and idles like a stock 993TT.

Priced at $69900 (!!!). PM or call me, Paul Pettit at 214.215.5004.

May be i am talking out of my head, but isn't $70,000 a bit too much for a car that has covered 80,000 miles.
None the less sounds like a great car and good luck.

I think its a great price and if I had the 70k I spent on my 40k mi car 5 years ago, this would have been the better option.

Keep in mind, the Andial tuning back in 2001 was about $50,000.

Beautiful car. Good asking price. GLWS!

What exactly is a "Andial tuning" and why does it cost $50K ?

I tend to agree.

Part of the cost was the Thielert standalone ECU ($15k or so in the day if I am not mistaken), which is now completely obsolete. A few here have the same 3.8 twin plug full build (3.8, twin ignition, carillos, turbos, cams, IC, oil pump, etc..) for $35k or less and a lot of miles on them. The FVD ECU with which it was replaced is not custom tuned for each engine on engine dyno, and we have not seen stellar performance on GPS supporting the claimed 800NM.

With that being said, this Andial 993TT will be a lot of fun if one is to have a street car with the occasional power rush and could last for a long time depending how it is driven. I would definitely do a full PPI on it, leak down and compression and assess the performance and status of the heads and others.

The upside is that you know this engine is well balanced and has been built properly by an experienced builder, for as long as the components last.

Not sure exactly. This is a better question for Hans and others. Surely it has something to do with:

"Andial upgrades include on the car include the following: 3.8 Liter Twin Plug engine conversion, Carillo rods, Mahle pistons, enlarged intake valves, RSR camshafts, GT1 turbochargers, Andial Intercooler"

Andial was a race shop that IIRC, and that's a big IF, was responsible for building (tuning???) a lot of the 962 era Porsche Motorsport racecars back in the day. They had incredible success on the track and in the 993tt's case, took their smarts to the street, making 20 examples. So, Hans' car is 1 of 20 on the planet. Andial has closed down and haven't been making anything for quite a while.

Others here can correct me and add much more than I can.

What I do know is that car is brutally fast. I've been on drives with the p.o. and the Andial is every bit as quick to probably 100 as the cgt. AWD helps immensely in that department.

I guess the proper term would be "built" by Andial.

What Hans said.
I this car is indeed one of the remaining 19 Andial 3.8s in the Andial 3.8 Twinplug Registry. (We just lost one on the track.) Andial certified these cars and sent a letter to every owner saying that they would support and maintain these cars.
Basically Andial was Porsche motorsports back in the day, and won a ton of races. They built these 3.8 twinplug conversions "in period" using predominantly Porsche Motorsports parts.
I have a build sheet on one of them that runs about 13 pages. Balanced blueprinted yada yada yada.
As Jimmy the Felon used to say, they are kind of like a Yenko Camaro.
The amzing thing is they are quiet and tractable and not to outrageous looking.....
Unless you go nuts like I did with El Guapo

yeah this is my old car- I've already got 6 cars otherwise I'd probably just buy it back. it's retardedly fast and as scott says the car does in fact have the 20 page or so build sheet, all service records (it's only been serviced by RAC here in TX and Andial in CA) awesome car!
