Having previously owned two 993 turbos and a various other Porsches through the years I wanted to share pictures of my most recent Porsche ... expected in the garage in 7-10 days

I am (signal) green with envy

I know, that was a stretch.

What a beautiful 911!

Congrats on the restoration, it is a beauty. It is good folks are willing to invest in such effort to maintain the heritage for future generations.

Default additional info about the car

In terms of background on the car. I purchased it from The Stable in early 2009. I have a copy of the original window sticker. It was originally purchased at Continental Porsche Audi in Tuscon Arizona. It was optioned as follows:

5 speed transmission
option group G26 (have not been able to determine what this implies)
Koni shock absorbers
Radial tires
Fresh Air Heating and Ventilation
Leatherette covered steering wheel
Electric heated rear window
Mechanical Fuel Injection
4 wheel ventilated disc brakes
3 speed windshield wipers
High capacity discharge ignition
undercoating
rubber bumperettes front and rear
front spoiler

total price for the car then was $10,765.50

It is a numbers matching vehicle. I opted to add/modify a few things during the restoration. The original color is signal yellow. The Recaro sport seats were added along with through the grill lights, the leather covered steering with 3 spokes, the rear seats were eliminated in favor of a package shelf which was not available as an option in 1973, but was in earlier years. The other change will be the door panels, which will be RS style with the fabric pulls.

1Buck, did the process really take over a year? What does a restoration like this cost?

The Porsche community is fortunate to have owners like you preserving its art for the future to enjoy!
