After making the power jump from 450+HP to 550+HP the stock brakes finally could not keep up. No surprise there, but I wanted to see how much the stock brake will take and frankly, until I drove at Portland International Raceway, the stock brakes worked fine but the the wear rate on both pads and rotors was quite high, and expensive.
PIR was the brake killer because it has two 140MPH straights back to back so at the end of the second, front, straight, going from 100 to 40 was just too much for the stock brakes and I started to get enough brake fade to make my *** pucker up a bit...
After some research and a long conversation with Mr Wrightwood I decided to go with the Brembo GT 355mm front and 325mm rear brake kits, with slotted rotors, and Pagid Yellow pads. The parts numbers are:
BREMBO 1B2.8022A2 FRONT BRAKE KIT
BREMBO 2P2.8019A2 REAR BRAKE KIT
After three track days at three tracks, one of which was PIR, I am extremely pleased with the brakes. They feel great, stop great and the wear on both the rotors and pads is minimal with the front pads only slightly more worn than the rears.
For that last two track days, we also added a custom reproduction of the Cargraphic brake cooling kit, which I'm sure is helping.

Some video of the car chasing down an RS America at Oregon Raceway Park (a very fun track for those of you in the Northwest that have not been there yet).

I envy you, dude. You use this car in a way I wish I could/should. Mine basically gets driven to/from the office or hauling my 6 year old to the mall. I love your graphics on the video. Good work.

Very nice! I luv my 380 GT setup on the front with the RS calipers in the rear. The rear GT didn't make the annual budget that year. Setup works perfectly for me however i must admit i have a little rear rotor evny right now. When I see side pic's of my car you can only see rotor through the front wheels and there is no space between the rotor and the wheel. Looks cool. Then I look at the rear and it looks like it came out of an A4 or something
