Default Introducing Andie 2.0

(With apologies to Laura Numeroff, author of "If you Give a Moose a Muffin")

So when I bought Andie, Amir had scratched the fender shield moving it out of his garage. Last month I finally put her in to have that and a clicking door checkstrap repaired by the wizard Ed Palmer at Kundensport.

Well now, if you are going to tart up a beautiful 993 turbo, you're going to want a sexy nice new set of wheels. I hooked up with this really nice tall Rerman dude named Jochen Rohr. Who happened to have some stuff lying around from his days winning races in the GT2s.
And he sold me some wheels 12x18 and 10.5 x18:

Of course if you are going to get some nice shiney BBS E28s, you're going to need a set of ENORMOUS tires to go with them. PS2 335 and 265:

But if you get wheels and tires that wide, you obviously are going to have to cut off your pristine fenders: !!!Warning this picture is not for the faint of heart, and I was not allowed in the shop during this process!!!!:

Naturally, if you have surgically removed your fenders, you're going to want to get a nice set of hand laid fender flares:

Now if you have such big wheels, tires and flares, it just seemed like a good idea to get Jochen's carbon fibre decklid:

Well, OBVIOUSLY, if you have a carbon fiber decklid, you neeed to get the wing from Jochen's GT2 World Challenge Series Championship winner still in it's war paint:

Now it gets dicey. I had intended to get an FVD GT2 look splitter and be done.
But, If you already have a set of perfect BBS wheels and tires and flares and a decklid and a wing, you really need to bite the bullet an import a complete Euro narrow body front bumper and GT2 splitter from Porsche Motorsports:

So remember, if you take your car in for a little minor fettling, you could end up like this:

That's pretty funny! Wow, Andie 2.0 looks great. With all the new bits (mostly expensive and rare CF), did he end up loosing weight?

Thanks for your kind words supporting my insanity.
I suppose she lost a little weight with the deck. The wing is fiberglass and weighs nearly as much as the decklid! But I elected to use the part from a pukka race car rather than a generic carbon fiber part.
I kept the interior, wipers and washers and sunroof intactas my family like road trips in her and she gets commuted in sometimes.

Wasn't sure if Andie was a he or she, (actually was going to call her a she) was pretty sure Frank must have been a he, but wasn't sure about Andie until now!

A fitting ride for the keeper of the 3.8 registry. A spectacular selection of factory parts will only add to the value nice job Scott.

Thanks all. As Steve says, this is exactly what my vision has been all along and I'm glad now that I gritted my teeth and followed through to the bitter end.
I'm not sure if Andi(e) is a he or a she either.
Ed was standing looking at it when he unveiled it and said "That car it thick!"
My mechanic said "That car looks like it needs a whip to approach it!

The physical presence is incredible and the picture cannot capture it. The CGT next to it looked a little, um, inadequate.

I'll take more pictures after I pick her up.

As far as the track....well if I happen to be at a track I'm going to want to bring a helmet.
And if I bring a helmet.......
