Beauty!
This reminds me of the story about the development of the Guerny Flap, or wickerbill.
Guerney's car was turning in crappy times and the driver was at his wits end about the poor handling. Guerney remembered some wind tunnel tests he had seen on little itty bitty spoiler flaps and decides to give it a shot.

The car goes back out and the times are even worse.

The driver pulls Guerney aside and says, "There is so much downforce in the rear that the front is pushing!!!!!!!"

So they adjust the front, and tell everyone the flap is there to protect the crew from cutting their hands when pushing the car..........................and the rest is history!
