The exhaust system on one side will be toast, which may have also done one of the turbos. Looks very similar to the damage on the car i bought my engine from, i have had a nightmare with getting it right.
If you are thinking of buying it, make sure you get it properly checked, the bills add up real quick!
Otherwise, a great chance to get a nice engine! Strong internals, twin plug and other head work, 3.8 etc... Nice mods to have done, does it have head sealing?

Does anyone know the output specs of this motor as built by Andial? Sorry, just don't know the tech. specs. and haven't done the research yet.
This looks like a great candidate for a purpose built car I would like to start...

The question is the condition of the engine, not from the accident but from the mileage. Obviously the car has been tracked and the Andial work was done 12 years ago and 43,000 miles ago. That being said, I think that their are others on here with Andials that have been tracked and at some point the engines need to be refreshed just like any other 993TT engines would need to be.

I have NO interest in this engine. Just passing along info to the board, while surfing the net this morning while on vacation.
What surprises me the most is LAD high eBay score, considering their very poor reputation on Rennlist.

^Big, I hope I did not bias your decision regarding LAD. But, if you do your proper research here on Rennlist, there a LOTS of opinions regarding them. Most I've seen were negative.

I didn't necessarily lose interest only from the negative feedback of LAD (which I've read on my own). I initially (quickly) read the engine mileage as 10k. I went back and reread the auction description carefully...
When the time comes, I'll most likely start from scratch. I like to work with known variables...and this engine is not one of those (I would have it torn down anyway). This wasn't going to be going in the 993TT anyways.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but wouldn't RSR spec cams have too much overlap for using FI? Wouldn't those cams be a bit aggressive for use with turbos on anything but a very well tuned racecar?

^^ My understanding (from Jimmy) was that these motors had RS cams in them. Hence the "smog legal" bit. That's not to say somebody couldn't do something different, but I don't believe that's the way they came from Andial. But then I also seem to remember Ruf Dallas advertising CJ's old car as having something like these as well. Could simply be marketing hype/mistakes.
