Considering another toy

Considering another toy
I have lived in California for over 20 years, but have never owned a convertible, so I am thinking about adding another toy to the collection.
Here are some considerations, some of which are inconsistent with each other.
1) my wife will want to drive and she is not good with a manual tranny
2) thinking about vintage rallying, like California Mille, Copperstate 1000, Colorado Grand
3) may want to drive on a more regular basis
4) want something that won't always be breaking down
5) want something that my wife won't object to driving / riding in
6) want something that will be fun to drive and look at
Some thoughts were:
Sunbeam Tiger (only car breathed on by Shelby which is affordable, and there is a reason for that I guess)
68-71 Corvette - from my mid-teen years and only starting to appreciate
SL55 - 500 hp - folding hardtop, wife likes, modern comforts, a real stop light racer, reliable???
I would appreciate your thoughts!
Thanks,
Hal
