This is the ultimat Porsche 993. The wolf in sheep's clothing. Stunningly pretty Cabriolet in Polar silver with special order full leather Flamenco Red interior as was the Porsche Poster "911% Excitiement". This car is in Concours condition. Drive it or show it, the choice is yours. This is the Porsche Speedster Porsche should have built! $50,000 in upgrades with less than 4k miles on all the upgrades.
Porsche made just 14 "factory" turbo cabriolets but none were "officially offered". Unfortunately, they were made using the older turbo motor, a single (as opposed to twin turbo) application producing just 360 hp. They also used the old five speed and not the newer and much nicer shifting six speed. The last one I saw advertised for sale in Germany was offered at $300k (200k Euros).
According to Wikipedia: "After the 3.3 liter G-model Turbo convertible (1987-89), Porsche never officially offered an air-cooled Turbo convertible again. However, in 1995 14, 993 Turbo Cabriolets were sold before the introduction of the 993 Turbo coupe. They featured the 360 hp (DIN) single-turbo engine of the 964 Turbo 3.6, a 5-speed manual transmission and the wing of the 964 Turbo 3.6. This required a premium of DM 89,500 (or plus 62%) over the standard 993 Cabriolet's price."
The motor here is a 993 motor, 1997, that has been completely built by Proto Tech. This is a high compression TWIN PLUG motor which means there is zero turbo lag and good fuel economy. Weighing under 3000 pounds and making well over 400 hp this car is far faster than a 993 Turbo S. With its lightweight two wheel drive system and torque abundance she's almost as fast as the almighty GT2 but with all the luxury features the GT2 lacks.
