words of caution: this may not be the best place to argue that Mustangs are superior to 993Turbos.

just saying.

This discussion is now pointless and boring to me. I'm moving on...

BTW - I bought the Cobra used for $28K. You can check out what I did to it here: 2003 Cobra

This has become a silly thread.
It could blow up at any time.
That chicken-little-the-sky-is-falling statement can be made about any mechanical system on the planet.

You're blurring fitness for use.

Is the crank suitable for the purpose of a 400 hp street car?

Funny thread from a somewhat disinterested non-owner of one of these. (Happened to be following the black/red for sale story.)

So let's go into the way-back machine, circa 1980. I'm 18 and have just bought a '68 911 that had a cobbled together 914/6 (aka 911T) engine in it, built up to "S" specs. Sort of. I busted it in short order (cylinders milled for even more compression than the stock 9.9-1, silly me ran the timing at factory spec). Picked up all the internals from a real 2.0S to make a good engine. One of the "tips" I got from Jerry Woods or Bruce Anderson was to still use the "T" non-counterbalanced cast crank.

Rinse and repeat on the 3.8 that came in the faux '95 RS. I'd have to check the build sheet, but I believe it ended up with a crank that's been extensively lightened.

Granted, neither of these engines were/are putting out anywhere near the numbers of a forced induction 3.6, stock or modified. Simply, the point is that all is not what it appears from looking at a spec sheet.
