Default Removing Rear Deck Turbo Emblem

Ordered an almost black Turbo emblem for the rear deck... to match the black tips from FDM and black center HREs..

Need to remove the chrome looking one..

I remember reading that you can heat up the emblem with a hair dryer and use dental floss behind it to help remove it... If my memory serves me..

Any thoughts?

Thanks

I've removed emblems that way - granted not a Porsche emblem - but it works.

Good luck with the project.

^Imran, you can order painted emblems from Eric at Bumperplugs.com. Great guy and excellent work quality.

Gary, that's a good method to remove the turbo badge. Parking the car in direct sunlight will help the "warming" process too.

Any residual sticky stuff can be removed with cirtus degreaser. I'd also recommend giving the rear deck lid area under the badge a good polishing (with the PC) and top layer of wax, since the badge will not impeed your results & progress.

Eric does great work, just did my rear bumperettes and the fronts are in the works...

It is amazing how much wider the back looks without the black breaking up the flow of the rear when looking at it.. The speed yellow is a perfect match...

I ordered this one.. It is in close enough for me to black.. Will look much better than the chrome on on SY... Anyone want a carbon "S" I won't be needing it...

Yes, heat it with a hair dryer. Dental floss works, especially if you manage to get some WD-40 to drip down behind the emblem. Make sure to wash it off before sticking on the new one
